Flamenco Rumba Class & Social Soho
Learn rumba flamenca and join our flamenco social in Soho, London.
Rumba flamenca is one of the palos de Ida y Vuelta β a fusion of Cuban rumba, Andalusian flamenco, and Catalan rumba. Rhythmic, expressive, and full of duende. Whether you're completely new to flamenco or you've been taking classes and need more practice space, this is your space.
What to expect:
1.5 hours of rumba flamenca class (beginners welcome β we'll teach you from scratch) with 10-minute break
1.5 hours of social practice where you can work on what you've learned, dance freely, and connect with other flamenco students
Welcoming, inclusive atmosphere β come alone or with friends
Your ticket includes 1 complimentary drink (soft drink, small wine, or sangria)
The class is taught by Flamenco con Maika, a dance school and project led by Maika JimΓ©nez Blanco, an instructor with more than 18 years of international experience.
Why come?
Flamenco students often struggle to find spaces to practise socially outside of formal classes. And if you're not ready to commit to monthly lessons but want to try flamenco occasionally, this is exactly what you need. Come dance, meet people who love Spanish culture, and maybe stay for dinner after (our Spanish kitchen is upstairs!).
No performance pressure. This is a social, not a showcase. Come as you are.
Important information:
Rumba flamenca is a solo flamenco style (you don't need a partner)
We'll work on footwork (zapateado), arms (braceo), and compΓ‘s (rhythm)
The social hour is relaxed β no pressure, just practice and fun
All levels welcome β most attendees are beginners or intermediate
Minimum number of attendees required. The organiser reserves the right to cancel up to 24 hours before the event if minimum numbers aren't reached. Full refund will be issued if cancelled. Attendees may cancel up to 2 days before the event for a full refund.
